WorldSkills Lyon 2024, an unprecedented national and international mobilization around trades, skills and excellence.
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is the result of an exceptional mobilization of skills sectors, training bodies, local authorities and youth and skills support institutions with the aim of highlighting skills excellence, as well as passion and youth engagement. It is a true springboard and catalyst for the development of vocational training, in line with the needs of the industry.
Max Roche, President of the Organizing Committee of WorldSkills Lyon 2024: "The organization of WorldSkills 2024 is an opportunity to demonstrate that vocational training paths are paths of excellence. Most of the professions represented suffer from labor shortages. This event can motivate young people to choose these essential and significant professions. This event, unique in the world, also serves to demonstrate that these professions, which have always existed, evolve and know how to innovate. What it is about now is to show their reality and respond to the modern challenges they face in terms of employability, attraction and education systems"
WorldSkills Lyon 2024: More than a competition, a key player in the French panorama for 2023-2024
Much more than a competition, WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is a set of events designed to bring together and inspire action among skills and vocational training actors, in France and around the world, with our values of openness, generosity, unity and excellence . The French Government is fully committed to hosting the 47th edition of the WorldSkills competition in Lyon. The French President has reaffirmed on several occasions his commitment to vocational training, which he describes as a "national cause."

". We are proud to do this, and every year I welcome the young winners of these competitions. And in 2024 we are going to organize it."
Commitment to young people and education: half of the 250,000 visitors will be schoolchildren
We want to create an immersive experience for young people at the competition venue and use the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 event to raise awareness among students and teachers from the start of the 2023 academic year, showing that vocational training is a path to excellence and fulfillment staff.
