BEIJING, March 13, 2023/PRNewswire/ -- SANY Group, the world's leading manufacturer of heavy machinery, has been providing much-needed help to assist in the rescue efforts after the country was hit by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on February 6. The SANY rescue team has helped save 28 survivors and is continuing its comprehensive relief efforts in all regions affected by the quake.

According to a statement from the group, SANY dispatched 12 search and rescue specialists to the hardest-hit region on February 7 to support the earthquake response. Using about 30 units of SANY machines, including excavators and cranes, the rescue team managed to pull out four survivors, including a child, within 150 hours of the disaster.

After the quick first response, SANY has been assisting the Chinese national rescue team and provided more than 100 units of its best machinery, including 40 excavators, 10 cranes, and more than 10 service vehicles. With the help of Putzmeister, the group's German subsidiary, SANY was able to rapidly deploy a 60-ton all-terrain crane, two 23.5-ton excavators and one 6.5-ton excavator.

In addition to rescue machinery, the group has also provided rescue supplies such as search equipment, warm clothing and medicine. In total, 200 batches of supplies were sent to the regions affected by the earthquake on February 7. Together with the SANY Foundation, the group sent two structural collapse rescue experts to Turkey from China. The two experts, Song Ximei and Jia Yingnan, brought life support, telecommunications assistance and lighting equipment weighing more than 50 kg with them.

SANY machinery was also used in infrastructure restoration. The rescue team helped repair gas pipelines and high-voltage power lines, as well as clear up fallen streetlights and the remains of houses. Beyond saving lives, SANY's rescue efforts continue in communities. As a commitment made by the group, the SANY rescue team will help local communities affected by the earthquake in Turkey to build new homes.
