OLNEY, Ill., May 25, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- DAHON, a world leader in folding bikes with more than 40 years in the industry, plans to expand its product range into a new category of motorcycles and mopeds. After the teaser presented at the China International Cycle Fair in Shanghai from May 5 to 8, the brand plans to present its 3 latest models, the Macaw motorcycle and the Magpie and Tailorbird electric mopeds, at INABIKE, an executive fair for the bicycle industry. the motorcycle in Indonesia, from May 24 to 26, under the motto "Go electric, green and reduce CO emissions!".

In this exciting new direction, DAHON, in addition to current E-bikes, is striving to prove that going green doesn't have to cost a fortune. The latest three quality (non-folding) models in their motorcycle and moped categories are available at a more attractive price than many other models currently on the market, and have zero CO emissions, offering an ideal cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to transportation powered by combustion engines.

Focused both on outdoor sports and fast urban mobility, the Macaw has a maximum range of 80 km on a full charge, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h and a consumption of only 6.19 kW/h. The 72V/73ah lithium-ion battery takes just 6 hours to reach full capacity, faster than most electric motorcycles of a similar level.

The sporty and cheerful Macaw is powered by a 5000W motor and its speed can reach 120KM/H (75mph). It has front and rear tires of size F: 110/70-17 R:140/70-16, and dimensions of L 715 (28") x W 2060 (81") x H 1140 (45").

Both the Magpie and Tailorbird mopeds have a maximum range of 110 km on a full charge, consuming just 2.7 kWh of power. They can also be fitted with an optional 60v-72v /32Ah lead-acid battery, which takes only 8 hours to reach full capacity.

Powered by a 1000W motor, the Magpie and Tailorbird models can reach up to 60km/h (37mph), and are equipped with a high-efficiency controller. Magpie has a front and rear tire size of F:80/90-14 R:90/90-14, the dimensions of L 700 (27") x W 1880 (74") x H 1220 (48"). Tailorbird has a front and rear tire size of F:90/90-12 R:90/90-12, and dimensions of L 700 (27") W 1850 (73") H 1090 (43"). The specifications of these two models are similar, although each has its own distinctive style; Magpie has a scooter look, while Tailorbird evokes classic Vespa styling, catering to individual rider preferences.
