Satellite images show the destruction of the dam on the Dnieper River (Ukraine), before and after

MADRID, 7 June. (EDITIONS) -

New satellite images published by the American company Maxar show the effects of the destruction of the dam in New Kakhovka (Ukraine) on June 6, which has caused flooding along the Dnieper River.

Flooded houses, villages, farms and crops are the images left by the destruction of the dam of the New Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, in the Kherson Oblast (Ukraine), with the rise of the river level along the river's surroundings Dnieper. This is revealed by the images published by the American company Maxar, which compare different scenarios between May 15 and June 6, before and after the disaster.

At least seven people have disappeared after the floods, according to local authorities, who estimate that the water level will begin to drop within three days. Some 900 people have been evacuated from these territories and 17 have been rescued from roofs, as the water has reached 12 meters in height.

Ukraine and Russia have mutually accused each other of destroying this dam 60 kilometers from the city of Jershon.
