Russia accuses Ukraine of causing power outages after an attack in the Kursk region

MADRID, 7 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The governor of the Russian region of Kursk, Roman Starovoit, has accused the Ukrainian forces on Wednesday of causing cuts in the electricity supply of two towns in the area after an attack with explosives.

Starovoit, who has indicated on his Telegram account that several people have been injured, explained that the incident took place as a result of an explosive attack against an electrical substation.

"Two explosive devices have been deposited in the town of Popovo Lezhachi throughout the night. A substation worker has been injured when the supply was restored, for which he had to be transferred to a district hospital", has asserted.

Thus, he has indicated that currently "there is no electricity" in Popovo Lezhachi and Tetkino due to the damage caused by the devices, although the authorities are already working to repair the damage and resume the supply.
