The PP has been the force with the most votes this Sunday May 28 in more than 3,300 municipalities, including six of the eight large Spanish capitals--Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Malaga, Murcia and Zaragoza--, compared to some 2,350 locations in where the PSOE has been the formation with the most votes, according to data from the Ministry of the Interior.
The party led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo obtains an absolute majority in Madrid, Murcia and Málaga. It also adds more councilors than the left-wing parties in Zaragoza and is equal in Seville. Likewise, he is guaranteed the mayoralty of Valencia where he has been the first political force.
Meanwhile, the PSOE loses 15 of the 22 provincial capitals in which it governs, among them socialist fiefdoms such as Seville, Valladolid, Castellón and Palma, they fail to add up in Valencia, where they are part of the Compromís municipal government. Nor do they manage to be the first force in Barcelona, where the list of Xavier Trias has been imposed.
