RELEASE: Womens Health Professional Care addresses the need to incorporate a gender perspective in healthcare

Madrid, May 23, 2023.- CloserStill Media, a company dedicated to organizing events worldwide related to technology and medical care, has announced today that it will organize Women's Health Professional Care in November, the first congress in Spain dedicated to the health and well-being of women.

Women's Health Professional Care, which will be held at IFEMA on November 17 and 18, will include top-level presentations that will analyze the specific needs of women in the fields of oncology, gynecology, sports or mental health. The professional fair will bring together more than 50 laboratories and companies, and aims to open a debate on the need to incorporate a gender perspective in health care. More than 1,200 healthcare professionals are expected to attend the event.

During the presentation of Women's Health Professional Care, the president of Closer Still Media, Agustín Torres, highlighted that the "main objective of the congress is to bring together health experts to include the gender perspective in the health system". In addition, as he has advanced, "advances in research and innovations in innovative practices such as artificial intelligence and Big Data will be addressed."

For her part, the president of the Scientific Committee and speaker at the Congress, Pilar Mateo, remarked that the professional fair is "very important because it allows women's health to be treated transversally for the first time" and she hopes it will be "a success for I can repeat many years and there is the possibility of making a better world for all women, both in the northern and southern hemispheres”.

Also participating in the presentation was the head of the Medical Oncology Section of the La Paz University Hospital, Javier de Castro, who hopes that the congress "will serve as a speaker to highlight and investigate at all levels the existing biological differences between men and women, and that affect diagnosis and therapeutic treatment. In addition, he has highlighted that there are cancers that, due to the perspective of being a woman, are diagnosed later.

The member of the Vice Ministry of Health Care and Public Health Fernando Prados Roa has pointed out "the inalienable commitment of the Community of Madrid with women's health", for which he has expressed that it is "proud" to be the venue for this congress : "Health cannot ignore the specificities of women's health", he concluded.

For his part, the director of the professional fair, Ramón Llunell, remarked that "it contributes to designing a new future for women's health" and believes that "it is necessary to open a debate on gender equality in health".

Lastly, Closer Still's Marketing Director, Ana Grau, has emphasized the importance of bringing this type of professional fair to Spain, which has been a success in countries like the United Kingdom.

In addition, the presentation ceremony was attended by some of the main medical associations in the country, such as the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology, the Spanish Society of Immunology, the Spanish Society of General and Family Physicians, the Spanish Association of Physiotherapists or the Spanish Association of Matrons.
