Real Madrid beat Partizan in artillery
The whites add the fifth European victory in a row in a happy clash although not for the defenses
MADRID, 24 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -
Real Madrid defeated Partizán Belgrade (105-97) this Friday in the tenth day of the Euroleague held at the WiZink Center, a high-scoring clash that the local team managed, with a little more defense in the second half, to follow the good dynamics of a perfect November.
Chus Mateo's team lost the defensive line that has been improving but achieved a face-to-face victory with the Serbs. The 32-40 of the first quarter warned of a match to plug in, of which the fans like, but not so much the technicians.
On the other side, the veteran Zeljko Obradovic blushed like never before when he saw his team without the aggressiveness that the game demanded, and with losses that the white team took advantage of. Sergio Llull came on overwhelmingly and went to 20 points, standing out along with Tavares (17 and 8 rebounds), Hezonja (15) and Gabi Deck (15).
The Argentine and the Croatian added in the second half, where Madrid proposed the defensive plan although it took them several minutes to put it into practice. It worked first for a Partizán that also hammered the rival rim with 17 triples. Leday, the ex of Barça Exum, Nunnally and Andjusic helped to have a beautiful night at the Palace.
The Spanish week for the Serbs, which began with a defeat on Tuesday against Barça at the Palau, completely choked with the white reaction in the third quarter. Chus Mateo managed to get his team to press, to return the rhythm in attack and the success, with a controlled last quarter after the offensive festival.
Those of Obradovic died on the edge of a Madrid that went over 100 for the first time this season and that, after beating Valencia, completed another positive week. A victorious November in the Euroleague to get to 7-3, already looking at the leadership of Fenerbahce (9-1), while Partizan remains at 4-6.
