PSOE and Junts choose Salvadoran diplomat Francisco Galindo Vélez as international verifier

MADRID, 2 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

PSOE and Junts have agreed to elect the Salvadoran diplomat Francisco Galindo Vélez as an international verifier of the meetings that both parties will hold to comply with the agreement that led to the inauguration of Pedro Sánchez as President of the Government, the PSOE has reported.

Galindo has already participated in the meeting held in Switzerland this Saturday between the Junts and PSOE delegations, with Santos Cerdán at the helm, and which was held with the utmost secrecy.

"The two parties thanked them for their commitment to making their experience and willingness to contribute to reaching a political and negotiated solution to the conflict available to the parties," says the PSOE statement.

The delegations of the PSOE and Junts have met throughout the day in a meeting that "took place in a cordial and working environment, and progress has continued," according to the PSOE.

AMBASSADOR OF EL SALVADOR IN COLOMBIA

Francisco Galindo Vélez is an ambassador within the Diplomatic and Consular representation of El Salvador in Colombia based in Bogotá and had been ambassador of El Salvador in Paris from 2010 to 2015.

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Legal and Political Sciences, authorized as a Lawyer in El Salvador, he has a Master of Arts from New York University in 2003.

He has been representative ((UNHCR) United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) in the countries of France, Colombia, Mexico, Egypt and deputy regional representative (Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba and Belize) from 1987 to 2008.
