Police Union denounces "connection" with Felipe Sicilia when he obtained a position in the TC despite his little experience

Studying legal actions for the "arbitrary" appointment and "in unequal conditions with the rest of the Police officers"

MADRID, 8 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

JUPOL, one of the representative unions of the National Police, has denounced the "enchufism" for the benefit of Felipe Sicilia, former PSOE deputy and former spokesperson for the Federal Executive of the party led by Pedro Sánchez, upon being "handpicked" for a position in the special police station of the Constitutional Court (TC) despite his little experience in an operational position.

In a statement, JUPOL has reacted by showing its surprise at the information advanced by 'Vozpópuli' and confirmed to Europa Press by government sources, understanding that the appointment of Felipe Sicilia as TC policeman has been carried out "without light or stenographers". In addition, it has announced that it is studying legal measures against the appointment.

"It is a designation that has been made completely arbitrarily, without following the channels designated for this purpose and, therefore, in unequal conditions with the rest of the agents of the National Police who would like to apply for that job position," JUPOL has indicated.

The aforementioned sources have confirmed the appointment by free designation of Felipe Sicilia in a procedure in which, they emphasize, the acting Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has not participated. They point out that the former PSOE deputy could ask for a position in the Police after not being on the lists for the Congress of Deputies and that he opted for a position in Madrid, a city where he has lived for about 15 years.

According to information from JUPOL, Felipe Jesús Sicilia Alférez acquired the status of national police officer on September 22, 2006, resulting in his promotion on 672 of 2023, and his first assignment in the National Police was at the Morón de la Frontera Local Police Station. (Seville).

The union assures that when he currently returns to his job in the National Police he should do so "in his previous position in Morón de la Frontera, a situation that has not occurred since his new position in the Constitutional Court was hand-designed." This position, they warn, has a financial supplement close to 400 euros per month and is "highly in demand."

"It is surprising that a person who has barely held an operational position in his career as a National Police is the beneficiary of that position, to the detriment of other agents who have been earning merit for that position for years," JUPOL continued.

The union compares the situation in Sicily, which acted as spokesperson for the PSOE in parliamentary commissions such as those that investigated the so-called 'State sewers', with the police officers assigned to embassies.

Some of these appointments have been annulled after appeals before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the National Court, as happened with the positions of Bogotá, Havana, Mexico City and Moscow, when justice observed the lack of motivation on the part of the minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

"These appointments do nothing more than perpetuate the existing suspicions in relation to the existing plugism in the leadership of the National Police, where the commanders use the positions in embassies with total obscurantism, attributing these positions by finger and without objective criteria," JUPOL has denounced. .

From the union they have announced that they are studying the pertinent legal measures. "We will take all necessary actions to prevent this situation from taking place and perpetuation of fraud in the National Police," they noted.
