Pep Guardiola asks Sweden to vote 'yes' to making Catalan official in the EU

The Catalan coach of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, has asked the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, to vote 'yes' to the official status of Catalan in the EU.

In a video in English published this Saturday by Plataforma per la Llengua, within the 'SAY YES' campaign, the coach said that Catalan "is an ancient language spoken by 10 million people and is part of the European cultural heritage."

Guardiola, who has defined Catalan as his language, has asked for a vote in favor from Sweden in the debate of the Council of the European Union on the official status of Catalan on September 19, which needs the 'yes' of everyone the Member States.
