Orange Spain invoices 1,164 million until March, 2.8% more

Orange Spain has billed 1,164 million euros up to March, which represents an increase in revenue of 2.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The company has grown in the retail business by 1.2% to 794 million euros, while the sale of electronic equipment and devices has shot up 18% to 177 million euros.

On the contrary, the wholesale business has fallen by 2.5% to 192 million euros, according to the presentation of results published this Wednesday.

Orange has set itself the objective for Spain to return to growth in adjusted gross operating profit (adjusted Ebitda) this year.

The company has raised the monthly price paid by its convergent customers (convergent ARPU) by 3.5%, thus chaining two consecutive quarters of increases. In addition, at the end of the quarter a price increase began to be applied to the tariff portfolio of between three and five euros.

On a commercial level, the company ended March with 30,000 fewer convergent lines, but it has lowered its churn rate and added 45,000 net mobile lines to the perimeter.

However, in terms of billing, the mobile business has fallen by 2.5% to 195 million euros, while the convergent segment has grown by 0.9% and the fixed broadband business without convergent package has grown by 8.1%

The company has just over 17 million mobile accesses, of which around four million are already Internet of Things (Iot).

Likewise, Orange is close to five million fixed broadband customers, 3.9 million in the retail business, of which 2.9 million are convergent, and almost one million in the wholesale business, after growth of around 15,000 lines in the last 12 months.

On the other hand, the company maintains around 3.5 million fiber optic lines, while it still has 272,000 copper customers (xDSL), 84,000 fewer than a year ago.

At group level, Orange has increased its revenues in the first quarter by 1.3% to 10,619 million euros in comparable terms and 0.3% in adjusted terms.
