Ministry and strike committee sign the agreement that ends the strike after 123 days and 15 meetings

The Ministry of Health and the strike committee of Primary Care doctors and paediatricians have signed this Thursday the agreement that puts an end to the strikes after 123 days, almost four months, and 15 meetings between both parties.

After having the endorsement of the professionals called to strike, a total of 4,240 Family doctors and 720 Primary Care paediatricians in the region, the strike committee met this Thursday with the department led by Enrique Ruiz Escudero to finish outline the points of the agreement in a written document, a meeting that has lasted for more than five hours.

"We have reached a negotiating ground in which there will be no winners or losers, which is very important in a negotiation, especially for compliance and monitoring of the agreements reached", highlighted Ángela Hernández, general secretary of Amyts, the union calling the strikes, before the meeting.

The principle of agreement contemplates as general lines the limitation of schedules to stop the care overload, a fixed complement of 450 euros per month to all doctors and paediatricians to replace the one who disappeared by TSA (Attended Health Card) and a plus of 500 euros per month for physicians who do pure afternoons and 300 for those who work three or four a week, as the strike committee has advanced before the meeting.
