Maduro presents a law to create the state of Essequibo and orders the publication of a new Venezuelan map

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, presented this Tuesday before the National Assembly an Organic Law for the creation of the state of Guayana Esequiba after the approval by referendum of the annexation of this territory, belonging to Guyana, in elections that the authorities consider now as binding.

Maduro has authorized the creation of divisions of the Venezuelan state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and the state-owned Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG) for Essequibo, which he has ordered to be granted licenses for oil exploration and exploitation. , gas and minerals, according to a government statement.

Likewise, the president has ordered the publication and dissemination of "the new map of Venezuela" with the Essequibo within the Venezuelan State, an area in dispute between both countries and rich in minerals and natural resources.
