Macarena Olona registers her political party "Caminando Juntos" two months before the general elections

MADRID, 31 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The former leader of Vox Macarena Olona has registered a new political party at the Ministry of the Interior this Wednesday, just two months before the call for general elections on July 23.

As Olona has confirmed to RTVE, to whom he will give an interview this Thursday, the new party will be called "Caminando Juntos".

Olona left the ranks of Vox in July of last year and then he already said that he would not run in the regional and municipal elections held this Sunday, but he did not close the door on being able to do so in a general election.

As soon as the 28M elections were held, the State lawyer fueled rumors on social networks about a possible return to politics. "I said that I would not attend the regional and municipal elections. No one could attribute an electoral hit to me below 8%. Fulfilled," she responded to an Internet user after Sánchez announced the electoral advance.

This same Wednesday he published another message fueling the speculation -- "Girl, don't be crazy. It would put you in the crossfire between the two blocs of bipartisanship" --, and a few hours later he published, without any comment, a photo posing in front of the Ministry of the Interior with a document in which you can only read 'Receipt for presentation at the registry office'.

Along with her, she has published another graphic in which two high-heeled shoes appear, one red and the other blue, along with the phrase 'Walking with the left foot and with the right'. It is a motto that she has used since she left the ranks of Vox and announced that she was going to do the Camino de Santiago, calling her followers to accompany her.

Olona announced his departure from politics just one month after leading the Vox list for the Junta de Andalucía, in which the party increased its representation in the regional Parliament (it went from ten to twelve seats) but remained in an irrelevant position as consequence of the absolute majority of the PP of Juanma Moreno.

In the announcement of resignation from the Andalusian seat, he explained that he was doing so for health reasons and published a photo with the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, who left the door open upon his return to the front line when he was recovered.

However, shortly after Olona announced his decision to embark on the Camino de Santiago and began to make veiled criticisms of his former party. He even publicly challenged Abascal via Twitter to hold a meeting to see if they would walk together. However, what led to the final break was an interview on ABC in which the criticism of Vox's internal organization was more direct.

After that, the party's spokesman in Congress, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, was in charge of announcing that they were terminating their relationship with Olona. "So far we have come," he said about what was her 'number two' in Congress from the 2019 elections until her appointment as a candidate in Andalusia.

Since then Olona has made numerous trips to Latin America and in November announced the creation of a foundation focused on "the cultural and ideological battle" against "the criminal gender ideology." According to what he said, his objective was to collect signatures to present a popular legislative initiative in Congress, although then he left the door open once again upon his return to politics.

"If the will of the Spaniards is for him to assume his voice again representing them in Congress, it will take place as long as, with a great sense of State, he does not put at risk the necessary balance that must be maintained when forming the next Government. from Spain".
