All the students of the educational centers of the Armed Forces are entitled to a monthly allowance
The Palacio de la Zarzuela has clarified this Friday that Princess Leonor will renounce the monthly allowance to which all students of the Armed Forces educational centers are entitled as of next year. The announcement that she would have that assignment had been made by government sources.
The students of the military academies are entitled to a remuneration that corresponds to 60 percent of the salary established for the C2 subgroup, without the right to extraordinary payments. The discounts corresponding to the ISFAS (Social Institute of the Armed Forces) and the Social Security contribution are deducted from this amount.
This translates into a salary in 2023 of 417.67 euros per month, according to the calculation of military specialists, consulted by Europa Press. In addition, the remuneration increases once the students receive the appointment of lieutenant, at the end of the second year. Then it goes to around 668 euros per month, with extraordinary payments.
Despite the fact that government sources had assured that the princess would join the Academy of Zaragoza under exactly the same conditions as her colleagues, from the Casa del Rey they have clarified that she will not receive any compensation.
The Palacio de la Zarzuela and the Executive have designed an 'ad hoc' training for the princess, with a condensed training in three years during which she will go through the academies of the Army, Air Force and the Navy.
His incorporation will be next August like the rest of the first-year students at the Zaragoza Army Academy and, after the pledge of allegiance, which usually takes place in October, he will move on to the second year.
The following year he will do so at the Navy Naval School in Marín, where he will also have the opportunity to embark as a midshipman on the Juan Sebastián Elcano training ship, and will finish his training at the Air and Space Army officers' school.
