The new president promises to govern "above the parties" and will prioritize "the well-being" of the citizen

The president of PP Aragón, Jorge Azcón, will govern the autonomous community during this XI Legislature, after receiving the favorable vote of the 28 deputies of his party, the seven of VOX and the representative of the PAR in the investiture session held this Wednesday and Thursday in the autonomous Parliament, in which he has outlined the main measures of his Government and has debated with the spokesmen of the eight parties that make up the Aragonese Chamber.

Azcón has had the favorable vote of 36 of the 67 deputies, doing so against the 23 parliamentarians of the PSOE, the three from CHA, the three from Teruel Existe, the one from Podemos and the one from IU, so that it has obtained an absolute majority . He will govern in coalition with VOX, although this morning he has offered the PAR in the speaker's gallery to also join the Executive.

The PP won the regional elections on May 28 and Jorge Azcón, who had presented himself as the candidate for the Presidency of Aragon, opened a period of negotiations that the general elections have delayed for several weeks and in which he has met with all the parties, except with the PSOE.

Finally, it has closed two separate agreements, one for the governance of Aragon, with VOX, whose spokesman in the Cortes, Alejandro Nolasco, will be first vice president, and another for investiture with the PAR deputy, Alberto Izquierdo.

Among the measures announced during the debate, the one who is going to be the new head of the regional Executive has indicated a tax reduction with the deflation of personal income tax, the practical abolition of the inheritance and donations tax, the promotion of the freedom of choice of educational center and of public-private collaboration in health. Of the agreements with VOX and PAR, the defense of the statutory water reserve stands out. With VOX he has also agreed to the repeal of the Democratic Memory Law.

Azcón has guaranteed that his government will be "above political parties" and has ensured that the welfare of the people of Aragon "will be above everything else."

He has also stated that his is going to be a "legitimate" government, which has not only had support in the regional elections, but in the general elections on July 23, the parties that make it up have once again revalidated the support of the citizens, after which he has recognized that "it has not been easy" to reach the agreement that makes his investiture possible.

During the debate on Thursday, the PSOE spokeswoman, Mayte Pérez, expressed her "greatest concern" because "her partisan interests", those of Azcón, have been above the interests of the Aragonese. Pérez thanked the vote of the more than 197,000 Aragonese who supported the PSOE in the regional elections and has affirmed that the Socialists are going to give their all to defend the Statute of Autonomy, appealing to "freedom, equality and social justice ", adding:" We are Aragonese.

"More Aragon and more Statute", Mayte Pérez has claimed, indicating that the Government of Lambán delivers "a social, green and digital Aragon" and that Azcón wants "a more submissive, reactionary and liberal Aragon" after "surrendering to the ultra-right" , warning that the socialists will be "in front" if PP and VOX repeal the Democratic Memory Law.

CHA's spokesman, José Luis Soro, lamented that "a tough legislature, with setbacks in the social sphere, erosion of self-government, scrapping of the welfare state and dismantling of public services" is opening ahead.

In his opinion, the PP-VOX government "is going to defend class interests, to the detriment of the social majority" and has opined that change "is not always for the better, it is not always good", although it has recognized the legitimacy of the new coalition fruit "of the arithmetic of the urns".

HEALTH AND ENERGY

The spokesman for Aragón-Teruel Existe, Tomás Guitarte, has proposed to internalize the urgent medical transport service and suppress the "obsolete" model for the implementation of renewable energies in the territory, at the same time that he has defended the creation of an investigation commission on renewables, as well as a moratorium on concessions.

Likewise, it has demanded that urgent medical transport be uninterrupted, with mobile ICUs equipped with a doctor and less assistance times, warning that "equal rights are at stake". Guitarte has urged to improve primary care, improve broadband and improve the ATM network in rural areas.

The spokesman for Podemos, Andoni Corrales, has warned that after a legislature "of progress", another one of "regression" and "at the service of Madrid" begins.

He has indicated to Azcón "that it was evident" that he was going to put his interests and those of his party ahead of the Aragonese; "I don't know why he has taken so long to announce that they are giving in to the anti-system" and allows "the ultra-right to enter the Government of Aragon hand in hand with him."

The IU deputy, Álvaro Sanz, has assured that PP and VOX "are sharing a dangerous and retrograde agenda in moral and political terms", in the face of what has been claimed by "the democratic exercise" and has called for "ending inequality ".

He has affirmed that VOX is a "denier of climate change, of gender violence, of equality and freedoms, of rights or of history" and that the agreement between PP and VOX "does not recognize the challenges of the Community to date equality, solidarity, justice and distribution of burdens and rights" as it is "a neoliberal and ultra pact".

COALITION

The PP spokesperson, Ana Alós, thanked the voters for their trust and expressed "the commitment to govern for all", after which she stressed that the people of Aragon "have censured the previous government with their vote".

Alós has defended the PP-VOX pact and has made it clear "that there was no alternative", except "submitting the Aragonese to new elections until the result favors the PSOE", noting that VOX is the third political force in Aragon and that "the Aragonese have said no to the quadripartite" formed in the previous legislature by PSOE, Podemos, CHA and PAR.

The VOX spokesman, Alejandro Nolasco, has affirmed that now "a new stage begins that will be decisive for the progress of the Aragonese" and that it will change the "radicalized" policies of the left-wing government, adding "that no one should be surprised" the PP-VOX pact because "Aragon is a land of pacts".

The PAR spokesman, Alberto Izquierdo, has maintained that his formation "is the best guarantee that in Aragon there will not be a transfer of the Ebro", indicating that the agreement signed with the PP ensures "perfectly the fight of this Government for water in this territory and for the water reserve that we are sure will be protected tooth and nail". "And if not, well now we're a little friends, but we'll be less friends."
