MADRID, 2 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -
The Higher Sports Council (CSD) has requested the Administrative Court of Sports (TAD) the precautionary suspension of the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, considering that his behavior in the final of the Women's World Cup "It is affecting the image of Spanish sport and of Spain" and also puts the 2030 World Cup bid at risk, according to the newspaper 'El País'.
This request comes to the TAD after the body described this Friday as a "serious" offense and not "very serious" the kiss given without permission to the player Jenni Hermoso by Rubiales.
"The acts are particularly serious, since they took place in the celebration of the final of the Women's Soccer World Cup and, therefore, they were the object of extraordinary dissemination in the international arena, directly affecting the image of Spanish sport. And this taking into account that these acts were carried out, both in the box of authorities and in the delivery of trophies, by the President of the RFEF, who is the highest representative of Spanish football", reads the text, according to 'El País'.
In the same terms, the acting president, Pedro Sánchez, expressed himself this Saturday at a match ceremony in Malaga in which he praised the "exemplary reaction" of the players of the Spanish Women's Soccer Team to the "attitudes and speeches embarrassing" of Rubiales, and has made it clear that he cannot continue leading the federation.
"One cannot aspire to represent Spain and make Spain look bad with attitudes and speeches that embarrass us and that do not represent us," said Sánchez.
For his part, Rubiales accused the Government this Friday in a veiled manner for, in his opinion, insisting "in taking part and pressing" against him, after TAD described his kiss without consent to Jenni Hermoso as a "serious" offense.
