Fernando Alonso: "It is a dream come true, everything has been advanced"

The Spanish Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) was "very happy" after getting on the podium this Sunday at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first round of the World Cup and debut with his new team, "a dream come true" and " a surprise" that does show that they are working well for a new project.

"It's a dream come true. Eight months ago I never would have thought that we would be fighting with Ferrari and Mercedes and that I would be on the podium in the first race. "The project is new. Both Red Bull and Ferrari have maintained the concept they had last year for the development of the car, now they are perfecting it. For us it is a completely new car and we are going to find many features in the coming months. Very happy," he added.

Alonso, who had a tough race overtaking Mercedes and Ferrari, with luck at the end of Charles Leclerc's retirement, highlighted the good atmosphere at Aston Martin.
