Feijóo, willing to speak "with everyone" but warns: "Speak yes, but neither blackmail nor submit to minorities"

He will present a battery of economic proposals and "institutional regeneration" in the face of "a model of rupture that leads Spain to a political, economic and territorial abyss"

The president of the Popular Party (PP) and candidate for the investiture, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has shown himself willing to talk "with the political groups that want to speak", as well as with the regional presidents that want to "contribute", although he has warned that it will not accept "blackmail" or submit to the will of "minorities".

This was indicated in an act at the castle of Soutomaior (Pontevedra) on the occasion of the inauguration of the political course, in which he also added that his willingness to dialogue does not mean that he will accept "what he is willing to accept the Sanchez party.

"The commission of the investiture entails the obligation to speak with those who want to speak and after speaking you can agree or disagree, and this is what I will try for the next few weeks. Talk yes, talk too, but blackmail no, auctions no, submit to what the minorities want," he asserted.

In his speech, he also stressed that in his inauguration speech he will propose the reforms that he considers "necessary" for the current political, economic and institutional moment.

"We are going to present our candidacy for the presidency of the Government and, even if it did not come out by four votes, what I can assure you is that the ideas, the proposals and the program that I am going to present in the Congress of Deputies will be in force during the years to come," he assured.

"Although it is not a short-term investiture, it will be the first stone of the next Government of Spain, because I assure you that I am absolutely convinced that now or later the next Government of Spain will be a Government of the Popular Party", added Feijóo.

In this line, the leader of the PP has opined that it is "better to lose an investiture" than to make the Spanish democratic institutions lose "the dignity", the "legal security" or the "credibility" of democracy itself.

In addition, he has stressed that if Pedro Sánchez finally becomes president again "it would be the first time in the history of Spain that the one who wins the elections and has four votes left to be sworn in as Prime Minister has to give way to the one who loses the elections and that it needs 24 parties to disintegrate Spain".

"If the investiture only depends on giving more, if the investiture only depends on giving more, on being able to give more to each and every one of those who want to leave our country, if the investiture consists of further humiliating the institutions, it is clear that this investiture will be won by Sánchez. But it is clear that this investiture will be lost by Spain", he opined.

Thus, the PP candidate has emphasized that, in his opinion, Sánchez is willing to make four transfers to be sworn in as president.

Specifically, he has indicated that Sánchez is willing to accept an "amnesty incompatible with the Constitution" for the pro-independence leaders investigated by the 'procés', as well as an "inappropriate independence referendum" for a country of the European Union (EU).

Likewise, Feijóo considers that Sánchez would be willing to form the "weaker" Government of Spain by being made up of "24 parties" and also that "it would break the principle of equality of all Spaniards."

Feijóo's investiture debate will be held on September 26 and 27 and the plan is for the candidate's speech to take place on Tuesday 26 and for the first vote to be held the following day, in which the candidate requires absolute majority to be invested.

In case of not obtaining it, there will be a second vote 48 hours later, on Friday, September 29, in which it would be enough for Feijóo to obtain more votes in favor than against to be sworn in as Prime Minister.

ECONOMIC PROPOSALS AND REFORMS

In relation to the economic proposals that he will put forward in his investiture speech, Feijóo has stressed that he will present a series of measures to "grow again", to increase per capita income, to create quality employment, to "reduce the indices of poverty" and to clean up public accounts, while stressing that he will propose "lowering taxes whenever and with as much intensity" as possible.

It has also indicated that it will address measures to ensure the viability of pensions. "Not by cheating pensioners, but by guaranteeing their pensions now and forever," she added.

In this context, he has influenced his intention to "break the demographic decline" of Spain to also guarantee the sustainability of the National Health System. In addition, he has advanced that he will propose a national pact for water so that it is accessible to the entire population of the country.

The leader of the PP was accompanied at the opening ceremony of the political course at the foot of the castle of Soutomaior (Pontevedra) by its main regional barons: the presidents of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno; from Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco; from Aragon, Jorge Azcón; from Extremadura, Maria Guardiola; from Murcia, Fernando López Miras, and from the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens. In addition, the general secretary, Cuca Gamarra, the general coordinator, Elías Bendodo, and the former president of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, were present.
