Feijóo will call Page "between today and tomorrow" within his round of contacts for the investiture

The leader of the PP has had meetings this week with social agents and has spoken with several presidents of the PP

The leader of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will call "between today and tomorrow" the president of Castilla-La Mancha and general secretary of the socialists in that region, Emiliano García-Page, within the round of contacts that he has opened for the investiture, according to sources from the PP leadership.

Feijóo has intensified his contacts this week before the investiture to explain the lines of the project that he will present in Congress and gather opinions, suggestions and proposals. Thus, he has seen at the PP headquarters both the president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, and the general secretaries of the UGT and CC.OO., Pepe Álvarez and Unai Sordo, respectively.

At the same time, the president of the 'popular' has opened a round of calls with the regional presidents. For now, it has emerged that he has spoken with the Andalusian, Juanma Moreno, the Cantabrian María José Sáenz de Buruaga, the Murcian Fernando López Miras and the Valencian Carlos Mazón.

Feijóo also has the socialist presidents on his mind and party sources have anticipated that "between today and tomorrow" he will call García-Page, who has publicly distanced himself from a possible amnesty for those convicted of the 'procés'.

In fact, last night García-Page stated - when he attended the presentation of Alfonso Guerra's book - that an amnesty law that favors the Catalan independentists "lacks a moral basis" because it would be supported by "the beneficiaries themselves" and he stressed that A Spanish Government cannot be formed "at any price."

Furthermore, the president of Castilla-La Mancha advised Pedro Sánchez to listen to the opinions of Felipe González and Alfonso Guerra because they were the ones who carried out "the greatest electoral success" of the left.

Feijóo's call to Page will come after Pedro Sánchez questioned this Wednesday from New York the judicial procedure that was taken against the leaders of the 'procés' in Catalonia and assured that "a political crisis never had to lead to judicial action and a judicialization".

In statements to journalists in Congress, Feijóo indicated that behind those words they are facing a "turning point" in the democratic history of Spain because for the first time they saw Pedro Sánchez "openly speaking about the possibility of an amnesty in favor of all those who committed crimes against Spanish democracy".

For this reason, Feijóo considers that his investiture is more "essential" after the "deception" and "repeat electoral fraud" with the amnesty of the acting head of the Executive. "He has deceived us again," he proclaimed.

One day after that forceful message against the amnesty of Felipe González and Alfonso Guerra, Feijóo welcomed the fact that there are "many socialists" who dare to "speak for the first time" about what is happening.

"There are socialists who have done much more for Spain than the new ones who are sitting in the Council of Ministers and on the blue bench and therefore, I can assure you that I also agree that the amnesty is the condemnation of democracy ", he stated, alluding to Guerra's words.
