Feijóo says that he will seek a unitary government and not agree with Vox after the general elections

He aspires to an absolute majority and wonders if Sánchez calls in July so that there is less participation

BARCELONA, 31 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, referred this Wednesday to a possible pact with Vox after the general elections on July 23: "Explaining what I do not want to do does not make sense."

He said this when answering questions after a dialogue in Barcelona with the president of the Cercle d'Economia, Jaume Guardiola, during the third and final day of the 38th Meeting of the Cercle d'Economia.

Feijóo is convinced that the PP can achieve an absolute majority in the general elections, as it has previously achieved in several communities, and has added: "My objective is to propose a unitary government that can carry out its proposals."

In his speech, he criticized the decision of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, to call elections on the hottest dates in Spain and "in the largest holiday exodus of the Spaniards", which he described as an unprecedented event in almost half century of Spanish democracy.

"Is the least participation sought and that citizens cannot attend to vote? I do not know," he added.

The popular leader has been convinced that the majority of Catalans share "the exhaustion of the situation and long for a calm and serene change", and has advanced that his will is that all institutions are respected and those who degrade them are not rewarded or try to break them, he said verbatim.

Regarding the results of the PP in Catalonia in the elections of May 28, he said that his party has experienced "hopeful" growth and that it has increased more than 145,000 votes, almost double those obtained in 2019, with which it has tripled his representation.
