Feijóo agrees to pay postmen overtime if he governs to facilitate voting by mail

"Even though they do not have enough reinforcements, let them know that they are guarding something that is sacred to the Spanish, which is their vote," he proclaims.

MURCIA, July 12 (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, recalled this Wednesday that July 13 is the last day to request a vote by mail and has asked the postmen to work "tomorrow, day and night" to facilitate it. What's more, he has promised to pay them overtime if he governs for "compliance with his duty."

This is how Feijóo has pronounced himself in an act with more than a thousand people -according to party sources- in the Annex of the Víctor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia together with the former president of the Government José Maria Aznar and the acting president of the region of Murcia , Fernando Lopez Miras.

Feijóo has asked his people to tell "the people not to be left without voting" in the general elections on July 23 and has added that this July 13 is the last day to request a vote by mail.

"I also remind you that if we ask to vote by mail, then we cannot vote at the ballot box and that is why I ask the postmen in Spain, with whom I have worked for the best years of my life, to work to the fullest, to work tomorrow afternoon and night", he demanded, recalling that he was president of the Post Office during the Aznar government.

The president of the PP has indicated that, although the postmen do not have "sufficient reinforcements", that they know that "they guard something that is sacred to the Spanish, which is their vote", the president of the 'populares' said.

For this reason, he has asked the postmen, "regardless of their bosses", to "distribute all the votes before the deadline for Spaniards" to be able to vote and exercise "their constitutional rights".

"I ask the entire Post Office staff because it is essential for our country. And I also promise that if they do not pay overtime, in the first Council of Ministers I will pay overtime to all postmen in Spain for complying with their duty, to everyone", he promised.

Feijóo has indicated that there are "11 days left to give Spain the government it deserves". "There are 11 days left, then, of enthusiasm and work and responsibility, without rest and without relaxation," he said, adding that if they do not work in these last days of the campaign they will "always regret it."

Last Monday, the leader of the PP already broadcast a video on social networks in which he encouraged people to go to vote by mail if they cannot go in person on July 23. "If you don't go, he stays," he proclaimed on the tape, alluding to Pedro Sánchez.

Feijóo started the video, just over a minute long, asking the citizens: "Hello, are you fed up with sanchismo? Right? Yes. I know that you have gone to vote on May 28 and you have voted for change. But that does not arrive", he assured, to add that citizens can "leave their homework done" before going on vacation because they still have until July 13 to request a vote by mail.
