Feijóo accuses the Government of "mudding the campaign" and proclaims: "No conditions are given for pardons"

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has accused the central government of wanting to "muddy up the campaign" and has asserted that "no conditions are given for pardons" to the leaders of the Catalan 'procés'.

After several media outlets published this Saturday at the last minute that they would be open to a pardon for Carles Puigdemont conditional on him being tried and rejecting the unilateral route and that, moments later, the PP clarified that these conditions "were not met with the pardons of the process", this Sunday morning, on a walk in Ferrol, Feijóo spoke to the press about it.

"I am going to be very clear and I am going to be forceful enough: I have said no, I said no and I continue to say no to any amnesty for two reasons: because it is illegal, unconstitutional and because it breaks the principle of equality of all Spaniards; and I said and say no to any type of pardon because not a single one of the conditions is met," he proclaimed.
