The ERC spokesperson in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, has claimed this Wednesday the ability of his party to "force" the PSOE candidate for the investiture, Pedro Sánchez, to call a referendum in Catalonia. He, in turn, has warned him that he will need his group to stay in the Government: "Don't risk it."

During his speech at the investiture session this Wednesday, Rufián addressed Sánchez to take advantage of ERC's ability to force him to comply with part of its conditions, such as the amnesty, although he insisted on the referendum.

"We here today have the capacity to force him, to force him to end the repression today and to force him, perhaps, to vote in a referendum tomorrow," proclaimed Rufián, who has continued to value his ability "to force him to leave paralysis."

Likewise, the ERC leader has warned Sánchez that he will need his party to remain in La Moncloa, alluding to the fact that he will no longer be able to agree with Ciudadanos. "Do you see Albert Rivera here? Do you see Inés Arrimadas here? Do you see them? No, right? Don't take any chances," he warned her.

In that same sense, it has assumed the ability to make the PSOE take one direction or another and approach a certain sector within the PSOE itself. In this sense, addressing the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo has pointed out that the only thing that the voters of the PSOE, Sumar, ERC, Junts, Bildu, PNV and BNG share - all the parties that will carry out Sánchez's investiture and that They support the amnesty law-- it is "stopping" PP and Vox.
