Díaz acknowledges that the negotiation with Junts will be "difficult" and points out that the limit is "the constitutional framework"

MADRID, 30 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The second vice president of the acting Government and leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, hopes to "convince" Junts to maintain the "progressive government", despite acknowledging that it will be a "difficult" negotiation, and has indicated that the limits for the dialogue are "within the constitutional framework and current legality".

"The worst thing that could happen to Spain is to have a government with (the leader of Vox, Santiago) Abascal as vice president. The worst thing that would have happened to Catalonia is precisely that government," he assured this Sunday in an interview in 'La Voice of Galicia', collected by Europa Press.

Díaz has reiterated that he has "no doubt" that there will continue to be a coalition government. "The elections made two things clear: the policies of the progressive government were validated and the citizens of our country want to continue advancing. We have a country that wants more democracy and more rights. Yes, there will be a coalition government," he stated.

Facing a meeting with Junts, Díaz has indicated that the parties know that "the limits are the constitutional framework, the current legality and the democratic framework", and has stressed that in a democracy "you have to be able to talk about everything".

"The results of the independence forces were what they were. For the agreements to come out there must be trust, respectability and a lot of discretion, but the parties must have the possibility of speaking about what they deem appropriate. It is a very complex negotiation, but what we are going to achieve", he added.

Likewise, the leader of Sumar confesses that she is already working with the acting president of the Executive and leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, the composition of the Government, whose desire is that it be "modern" and "accommodate" the needs of the first quarter. of the 21st century. "We have shown that our country has defeated barbarism," he stressed.

In relation to her role in a future government, Yolanda Díaz says that it is not up to her to make the decision to be vice president and that everything will be resolved in a negotiation. "Sumar is going to have an important game, but I have to have this conversation and I'm already working on it with the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez", she commented.

Asked about the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Díaz said that "he has failed." "His leadership of him fades, in Spain and in Galicia," she has expressed.

"His political proposal failed, his campaign was erratic, his permanent lies punished him, he demobilized the right. Feijóo cannot govern, he is alone, he has no one to talk to. This in politics means having no future," he concluded.
