The Serbian authorities have reported this Wednesday that eight people have died, most of them minors, in a shooting perpetrated by a student at a school in Belgrade, the capital.
The attack, which was perpetrated at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in the Vracar neighborhood, has also left seven injured, six of them students and a teacher, according to information from the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, which has pointed out that one of the deceased is a school security guard
The security forces have indicated that the main suspect in the shooting is a fourteen-year-old student and have warned of the discovery of a backpack with a weapon and bottles with flammable liquid inside.
The alleged perpetrator has been arrested and, according to his classmates, he had attended a birthday party the day before, where he had behaved with apparent normality. "He got very good grades in everything, so we called him a nerd," said a student, according to the newspaper 'Blic'. The Ministry of Education has already opened an investigation in this regard.
