Aragonès defines the demonstration of the PP against the amnesty as an "attack on Catalonia"

"Sánchez is the first to know that the amnesty is a necessary but not sufficient step"

BARCELONA, 24 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has affirmed this Sunday that the rally organized by the PP against the amnesty "is a manifestation of hatred, contempt and attack on Catalonia, and revenge against Catalonia".

"The only message that the PP has for Catalonia is repression," said the leader of the Catalan Executive in a press conference before meeting with the Minister of Culture of Chile.

Aragonès told the popular leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, that "he has failed to be president of the Spanish Government because Catalonia has defeated Feijóo in the polls".

He added that the demonstration has caused Catalans "today more than ever to add their support" to the amnesty and the independence of Catalonia.

The Catalan president has announced that in the General Policy Debate of the Parliament, which begins this Tuesday, "a clear and complete message about the present and the future vision of Catalonia" will be given.

He has said that "Pedro Sánchez is the first to know that the amnesty is a necessary but not sufficient step."

"He knows perfectly well that in order to advance his investiture, he must put on the table, alongside the amnesty, how we approach the broad demand from Catalonia to decide our future," Aragonès explained.

He has also called for addressing issues such as ending the fiscal deficit and returning "dignity to public transport" with a comprehensive transfer of Rodalies to the Generalitat of Catalonia.
