Amparo Rubiales resigns from the presidency of the PSOE of Seville after calling Bendodo a "Nazi Jew"

SEVILLA, 8 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the PSOE of Seville, Amparo Rubiales, has transferred this Thursday to the socialist leadership her resignation from office to "settle the controversy created" as a result of her statements on social networks in which she described the general coordinator of the PSOE as a "Nazi Jew" Popular Party, Elias Bendodo.

This has been confirmed to Europa Press by party sources in Seville, who have pointed out that the leadership "has accepted his resignation", while thanking him "for his availability and work at this stage". The leadership of the Sevillian PSOE had asked the historic leader for "a rectification".

"The leadership of the PSOE of Seville is completely disassociated from the statements that the socialist Amparo Rubiales has made in her personal capacity on her social networks. The party leadership considers these statements absolutely rejectable and has requested a rectification from Amparo Rubiales," said the PSOE. Sevillian in statements to Europa Press.

This reaction occurred after the Malaga PP called for the immediate dismissal or resignation of the president of the Seville PSOE, Amparo Rubiales. "While I continue as president of the PSOE of Seville, both Pedro Sánchez and Juan Españas are jointly responsible for these statements, something clearly unacceptable," the party asserted.

The general secretary of the PP of Malaga, José Ramón Carmona, affirmed that this action by the socialist is "the result of fanaticism", warning that "all red lines have been crossed by the person who was a councilor of the Board, senator and deputy in Congress for the PSOE, a party that cannot keep her in her post for one more second," she insisted.

In addition, Carmona stressed that "this insult is not directed only at Bendodo, but at the entire Jewish community", alleging that "the political barrier cannot be transcended and propitiate personal attacks of this nature, which do not only affect the person, but to the entire Semitic community".

Bendodo himself, who comes from a Sephardic Jewish family, already replied to Rubiales, assuring that "whoever qualifies in this way qualifies himself." Cuca Gamarra or the PP also rejected Rubiales' words, as well as the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain, which officially represents Spanish Jews.
