Airtificial signs a contract in Honduras for almost one million euros to manage a fresh water reserve

MADRID, 21 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Airtificial has signed a contract in Honduras for almost one million euros through its Civil Works business unit for the recovery of the largest reserve of fresh water in the country and its environmental ecosystem, as reported this Wednesday by the company to the National Market Commission. of Securities (CNMV).

Specifically, the Civil Works unit will be in charge of designing the engineering of a sanitation and water treatment network that allows the development of the Sustainable Recovery Program for Lake Yojoa, a volcanic lake that houses the largest freshwater reserve in Honduras and It has a diversity of "key" ecosystems for the preservation of the environment.

This project is considered by the Honduran Government as a "national priority" due to the impact it has on the population and the local economy, as highlighted by the company in the statement sent to the supervisor.

Airtificial will work with the Honduran company Soluciones Ambientales for eight months on the engineering study and design for the development of the Sustainable Recovery Program for the lake, which is located between Comayagua, Cortés and Santa Bárbara.

This project has been financed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).

The CEO of Airtificial, Guillermo Fernández de Peñaranda, explained that this contract is a new example that "the planet requires urgent measures for the sustainable use of water", while recalling that Barcelona (Spain) is suffering "an unprecedented drought and the need for transfers."

The company has highlighted that with this contract it fulfills a "double objective." On the one hand, it is growing in a "strategic" business sector such as water management and, on the other, it is reinforcing its international expansion strategy and diversification of technology and engineering solutions on the path to sustainability.
