Abascal reaches out to the PP to agree and says that now Feijóo has to choose: "O Vox or another path"

MADRID, 29 (EUROPA PRESS) - The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has assured this Monday that his formation has "an outstretched hand" to reach agreements with the Popular Party after the regional and municipal elections this Sunday, but he believes that now the responsibility falls on the 'popular', who must decide if they want to form a majority with Vox "or opt for another path."

At a press conference, Abascal has avoided marking Vox's lines in the negotiation and has assured that his will is to build "the alternative" with the PP. For this, he will give some guidelines to his regional directorates to open the conversations with the Popular Party, with the same speech in all the territories.

"Our hand is outstretched, today is not a day for demands, ultimatums or thick words," he explained, hoping to find "respect, high-mindedness, responsibility and patriotism" on the other side.

Abascal appeared this Monday at the national headquarters of his party in Madrid with the satisfaction of having obtained "magnificent results" in the regional and municipal elections this Sunday. "Magnificent results for Spain and for the construction of an alternative", he has celebrated it.

In his opinion, the citizens have endorsed the Vox project in a "very clear and incontestable" way and the party is "confirmed" in the construction of "the alternative" to socialism. "That alternative will exist and there will be where other political forces are willing to speak with us with respect, responsibility and patriotism", he has advanced.

In this context, he has assumed the construction of this "alternative" as "a duty" and has ensured that Vox will devote himself to it "body and soul". For this reason, he has avoided marking red lines and has insisted that the PP, in those places where it has won but does not have a majority to govern, is the one that must decide if it is willing to speak with Vox or wants to "opt for another path". .

"We are going to fulfill our obligations," he assured. However, he has insisted that the agreements do not depend only on Vox. Abascal's formation boasts of having the same discourse throughout Spain and with this it will give some guidelines to its regional leaders to face the negotiations. As pointed out by the party, the PP is the one that has "different positions" depending on the territory and this could lead to the agreement being possible in some places and not in others.

In this sense, Abascal recalled that Feijóo has offered a pact to the PSOE so that the most voted list governs and has been waiting to see if it goes ahead with this idea or takes the step of speaking with Vox. This condition, as he has remarked, would leave her candidate, María Guardiola, without the Presidency of Extremadura, since the PSOE has been the party with the most votes and the PP could only govern with a pact with Vox.

"We are waiting with an outstretched hand and ready to build the alternative," he insisted, emphasizing the notice he has made throughout the electoral campaign that Vox votes must be "respected." "That nobody counts on us to make a gift", she has reiterated.

The Madrid Assembly is the only community in which Vox has worsened its results with the absolute majority of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to which is added that of José Luis Martínez Almeida in the capital's City Council.

Abascal has assured that they will analyze these results but has claimed that "partial" data cannot "tarnish" their results throughout Spain, "which have been extraordinary." In his opinion, in Madrid the departure of Podemos from Parliament is "very good news" and that is "excellent news" for Spain even though the results have not been "the best" for his party.

It is the opposite case of Navarra, as he pointed out, where Vox has obtained a good result with the entry into the regional Parliament but "they are not good results for Spain." "And that weighs on us," she assured.

BILDU, "BAD NEWS"

In addition, he has described the result obtained by Bildu as "bad news", for which he has blamed both the PSOE for its "pacts" with the formation and the PP for rejecting its illegalization when it was raised in the Cortes Generales.

For Abascal, it is not "decent or acceptable" for a party that is against national unity to be legal and that also "has carried out terrorism, boasts of having done so and has murderers on its lists."
