A 6.4 magnitude earthquake shakes western Afghanistan

An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on the Richter scale shook western Afghanistan early Sunday morning, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

This earthquake, which occurred at a depth of ten kilometers according to the EMSC, was followed by a second tremor of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter scale, which occurred at the same depth about twenty minutes later.

At the moment, the extent of the damage caused by these earthquakes is unknown, which comes after this Wednesday more than 100 people had to be treated with injuries of varying degrees after an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on the Richter scale. the most powerful aftershock to that date of the earthquake that this same area suffered last Saturday, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
