MADRID, 10 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Russian authorities have demanded that Finland take legal action against those who burned a Russian flag as an act of protest on the streets of the Finnish capital, Helsinki, last Tuesday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement this Saturday calling for those responsible for this offense to be brought to justice and for measures to be taken to prevent this type of "extremist action" in the future.

The Russian diplomatic portfolio has transferred to its Finnish counterpart that this type of action is seen by Moscow as an "unacceptable and unprecedented act of desecration" of one of the national symbols.

As Russia has reported, as part of the celebrations for Finnish Independence Day, some of those attending a march through the capital burned a Russian flag.
