Ainia will carry out 13 R&D projects within the program of aid directed to technological centers of the Valencian Community for projects in collaboration with companies 2023 of the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) of the European Union.

More than 30 companies from the agri-food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and packaging sectors of the Valencian Community will collaborate in the development of technological solutions to respond to the main challenges they face in the coming years.

Through the Cosmefeel project, neuroscience will be applied in sensory research of cosmetic products. With Supralem, R&D will be developed in the cultivation and processing technologies of lemna and microalgae biomass to obtain more environmentally sustainable ingredients with improved nutritional characteristics.

Prevencpack will apply R&D in interaction technologies between packaging, product and food preservation, while Pharmanova will study technological strategies for the search and development of natural biomolecules with potential therapeutic effect for application in pharmacy.

On the other hand, Smartfarm will investigate the production of cell lines in bioreactors to obtain cultured meat. The Marea II project will be aimed at the generation of new advanced coating materials for the microencapsulation of sensitive compounds, and through Food4one II, AINIA will direct its studies to the development of a personalized digital food platform.

In addition, Agriculture 4.0 will be used to improve seasonal crop planning through advanced sensors and algorithms in the Agrisme project.

Ainia will also develop antimicrobial strategies aimed at the microorganisms that cause cavities thanks to the Healthytooth II project; and hygienic materials, based on biomimicry, for hygienic improvement with respect to the materials usually used in production plants in sectors such as agri-food, through Biomimat II.

Finally, the Upbiomet 2 project will dedicate its studies to the application of anaerobic digestion technology in the production of biomethane in situ with the transformation of CO2 into extra methane. Revaloriza II will investigate the recycling and revalorization of biodegradable materials, and Globalsafefood II will direct its efforts to achieve new techniques for massive analysis of food safety data based on artificial intelligence techniques.
