Affirms that there is no agreement to modify the Head of State and that this matter does not fall within the concerns of citizens

MADRID, 25 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for the Executive of the PSOE, Felipe Sicilia, assured this Wednesday that the bill in defense of Catalan at school complies with the ruling of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), which establishes that 25 percent of the classes in Spanish in Catalan schools.

The parliamentary groups of PSC-Units, ERC, Junts and the comuns have agreed on a bill in defense of Catalan at school that leaves Spanish without the 25 percent that the TSJC had set and it will be taught as the centers decide

Sicilia has indicated that they are "convinced" that they comply with the Court's resolution and that they will not be "in any agreement that does not comply with the judicial resolutions", Sicilia warned when asked in an interview on TVE, collected by Europe Press, on whether his party had desisted from complying with the percentage set by the TSJC. In addition, he has stated that "once it is launched" it will be seen how the students of Catalonia finish their studies mastering both the Catalan language and Spanish.

"If this were not the case, my colleagues from the PSC would not be in the agreement. If they have made the agreement possible and have been in it, they are aware that this agreement complies with the sentence. We are not going to be in any agreement in which the judicial resolutions", has transferred on the fulfillment of the sentence.

However, he has celebrated that, in his opinion, this agreement achieves that "finally" the language, "something as important as culture and the education of children", comes out of the political confrontation.

On the other hand, Sicily has defended that the Government complied "scrupulously" with the legality and utility when granting pardons to the independence leaders who were in prison.

This is how the socialist spokesman expressed himself when asked about the decision of the Supreme Court (TS) which, contrary to what it decided last January, has now accepted the appeals raised, among others, by the PP, Vox and Ciudadanos, and going to review those pardons.

For Sicilia, the review of the TS "does not mean that they are wrong" and that what it is going to do is check them at the request of political parties that "use confrontation." "What is the situation in Catalonia right now and what was it in 2017?" He asked himself, while pointing out that pardons have contributed to Catalan coexistence.

On the proposals to modify the model of the Head of State after the visit of the emeritus king to Spain, Siclia has stated that "everything" that refers to touching the title of the crown requires agreements that "at this time do not occur" .

However, Sicilia has pointed out that whoever wants to propose another model has to make a proposal "in detail and without misleading", although it has insisted that there is no agreement to modify the Head of State and that, furthermore, this matter is not enters into the concerns of citizens.

Sicily has celebrated the efforts of the Royal House and Felipe VI to "modernize" the institution and give it "more transparency" and has not valued the visit of the emeritus because it considers that it is not the responsibility of the Government and that they are trips that are part of the private life of the former monarch.
