The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, affirmed this Friday that Algeria is a "strategic partner" for Spain from a commercial point of view and has maintained that the Government's will is to keep the treaty with the country in force.

He said this in statements to the press after presenting an agreement on the B-40 from the Regional Council of the Vallès Occidental in Terrassa (Barcelona), following Algeria's decision to suspend foreign trade operations with Spain in response to the Government's move regarding Western Sahara to support Morocco's autonomy plan.

The minister assured that the Executive is "analyzing the impact that this declaration may have" together with Brussels, since trade relations with the country also affect the countries of the European Union, and added that they will try to redirect Algeria's decision .
