Koke, player with the most matches in the history of Atlético

The captain of Atlético de Madrid, Koke Resurrección, has become this Saturday, in the LaLiga Santander match against Sevilla, the player with the most official matches in the history of the rojiblanco club, with 554, after breaking the tie with Adelardo Rodríguez (553 ).

The 30-year-old Vallecano midfielder who entered the lower categories of the mattress club when he was only six years old, made his debut with the first team on September 19, 2009 with the number '26' on his back. Since then, he has donned the Atleti shirt 554 times, more than any other club player.

"Koke has known for a long time what that captain's armband means, what it means to be from Atlético de Madrid. Our captain perfectly represents everything that an Atleti boy wants to be when he grows up. Koke is fight, effort, sacrifice , solidarity, courage and heart. Koke is Atlético de Madrid," said the rojiblanca entity, which will pay tribute to him next Thursday, October 6 at the Cívitas Metropolitano.

In total, he has lifted up to eight titles, which make him the second player with the most titles in the club's history, only surpassed by Adelardo Rodríguez (10): two Leagues, one Copa del Rey, two Europa Leagues, two European Super Cups and a Spanish Super Cup.
