The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès; the mayor of Barcelona, ​​Ada Colau; the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet; the Minister of Culture and Sport, Miquel Iceta, and the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, observed a minute of silence this Wednesday in honor of the victims of the attacks of August 17, 2017 on their fifth anniversary .

The act took place in the Pla de l'Os on La Rambla --at the height of the Memorial-- and consisted of a minute of silence accompanied by the music of 'Cant dels Ocells' and a floral offering, and also featured the Vozes youth symphonic choir, which performed two musical pieces.

Family members of those who died in the attacks were on the front line, and the second vice-president of Parliament, Assumpta Escarp, and the Ministers of Health and Interior of the Generalitat, Josep Maria Argimon and Joan Ignasi Elena, among others, also attended.
