This Saturday, the 15th Congress of the PSC ratified Salvador Illa as first secretary of the party and as a candidate for the Catalan elections on May 12.
This has been decided by the more than 1,300 delegates participating this weekend in the Congress at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, in Barcelona, with two votes by show of hands.
It is the first time that the PSC has chosen its candidate for an election in a party Congress, the same week in which the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has called early elections after the Parliament's rejection of the Budgets.
