A vision of the future of decentralized identity: Microsoft introduces the block chain-based, Open-Source-project ION

Microsoft is treading with ION a further step in the direction of decentralized identity. Here, the core idea is that every human being has a decentralized, digital identity and self-controlled. These DIDs (Decentralized Identifiers) are to be covered by their own identifiers. Thus, Microsoft wants to make secure interactions between organizations, people and devices possible.
