 Azerbaijan plans to wide Blockchain-use

The advantages of the Blockchain technology have long been talked about, also in Asia minor around. Azerbaijan now plans to use the Blockchain and Smart Contracts in the housing and utilities sector. The technology is already in use in some services of the Ministry of justice, the application – but still not enough, says the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Internet forum (AMF).

Azerbaijan will in the future rely on the Blockchain technology, among other things, when it comes to the digitization of the information systems and registers of the Ministry of justice. This is the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Internet forum (AMF) Osman Gunduz has announced. 30. October was held a meeting of experts in the government about the systems and electronic services of the Ministry of justice informed.

Mobile notary and transparent supply contracts

During the meeting, the members present information about 30 e-services, which deal among other things with the data processing of the penitentiary service of the population register, as well as non-governmental organizations. Gunduz highlighted a project that bears the title of "mobile notary's office". Here, you don't want to collect notarial documents using the Blockchain only and in a safe place, but also authenticate. Especially this use of the Blockchain technology was very well received in the Expert public. So Gunduz:

"stressed in Particular the interest of the Ministry in the introduction of the Blockchain technology, caused a sensation. It was announced that the Smart Contracts will be introduced in the area of public utilities (water, Gas and electricity). This refers to the conversion of existing contracts of citizens for utility services on Smart Contracts, ensure transparency and provide the opportunity to prevent fakes in this area. The citizens themselves can all control these processes independently.“

E-Government explained comes

Like the AMF Chairman, are already based most of the services of the Ministry of justice (registers and databases of the population), Distributed Ledger technologies. In addition, there are still areas in which the Blockchain may be of particular importance:

"This refers to 'electronic courts'. So far, the work in this direction is very weak. In view of the fact that the project itself will be implemented for almost five years, the E-Government however, only a few court proceedings. In my estimation, even more support is needed here. In the case of the notarial institutions can be observed some progress. For example, the extracts from the Register of real estate were already integrated in the Online environment.“

Azerbaijan is so obviously on a good path in the direction of Blockchain-based E-Government. It is worthwhile to continue to monitor these developments.
